Create a beautiful quilt top from a jelly roll faster than you could ever imagine. How are you going to do it? With a handy dandy serger! 

Sergers are not just for making clothes. Did you know that they are just as functional as a sewing machine, and can actually be used for constructing a variety of projects, including quilts? (In half the time, no less!) Yep! This lesson is going to give you a fantastic overview of what it's like to sew with a serger as you use it to construct a small quilt. You'll learn all of the threading basics of the machine, practice the four-thread serger stitch, and explore common serger practices.

Once you're comfortable with the basics of the machine, you can put theory into practice as you begin to work on the quilt. The first part of the class will cover block construction. We’ll finish at least one, and you can then go home and stitch more. Make as many blocks as you want; our instructor can help you calculate how much fabric is required for the sashing based on how big the quilt is. In the second part, you’ll add some sashing to the blocks and finish the quilt. Wasn’t that easy piecey?
